About Chika Rita-Ann Vendela Okwuosah

Born on the 14th of June, 1988 into the family of Sir (Dr) & Lady Dozie Okwuosah of Odekpe, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Barrister Chika Rita Okwuosah was a quintessential, promising child whose life and legacy has made an indelible significance not only to the Okwuosah’s family but the world at large.

From her cradle, she was a brilliant child who excelled academically. Starting at Radiance Nursery and Primary School, FESTAC, Lagos Nigeria, through to the Stella Maris College, Life Camp, Abuja, she proceeded to the prestigious University of Essex, Colchester, England where she obtained LLB ( Bachelor of Law) Degree in 2010.

Afterwards, she returned to Nigeria for her One-Year NYSC conscription working with the Consolidated Discount House Limited as an Assistant to the company’s legal adviser. Then, she attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja for her professional Bachelor of Law, and was Called to Bar in November 2013.

From working as an intern, assistant legal officer, chamber’s legal officer and then Executive Director, Barr. Chika Owuosah worked with Uyi Frank Ogayagbona & Co., Peoples Choice Petroleum (PCP), Dele Oye & Associates, and DNC Investments Limited respectively.

Chika Rita Okwuosah was a sterling, learned lawyer whose thirst for knowledge was phenomenally inspiring, and having discovered from her working experience that she was most suitable to be a corporate lawyer, she took the bull by the horn and went back to the United Kingdom to learn more of corporate and commercial law at the University of Dundee Scotland, where she bagged LL.M in International Commercial Law in June 2016.

For Chika Rita Okwuosah, becoming a lawyer isn’t just to fulfill her personal academic aspiration, but a call to touch lives, advocate for the downtrodden and serve humanity; to make our world a great place for all mankind regardless of race, colour or social backgrounds. It was her legacies, passion and lofty aspirations that inspired, and continue to drive the Barr. Chika Rita Okwuosah Foundation.

Her story would be incomplete, without the chronicles of her foray into the fashion industry. Barr. Chika Rita Okwuosah enjoyed reading about fashion, and eventually discovered she was fashionably talented. Having fulfilled her academic aspirations, she discovered her purpose in entrepreneurship, and started her newfound passion in the fashion industry. According to her, she was inclined to make humanity look good every day – a trait her nuclear family, and everyone who came in contact with her could testify of her personality.

According to friends and loved ones, to them Barr. Chika Rita was a Diva, strong-will, caring, fashionista, trusting, unique, awesome, adorable, passionate, selfless, relentless, sweet, among others. All these attests to the contents of her sterling character.

She was a result-oriented, organized both in personal and professional life, dependable, self-motivated and analytical lawyer with strong passion for excellence and success in all her endeavors. She was an erudite learner, who habitually seek answers to real life problems, and love to take on challenging tasks even outside of legal jurisdiction. Until her transition, she was Executive Director overseeing the Beauty and Fashion Division of DNC Investments Limited – a business conglomerate of the Okwuosah’s Family.
